This book is written for students all over the world and everyone who works in the MICE industry.



Gebert Janssen studied music at the ArtEZ conservatorium in the Netherlands. After his study he ended up in the events industry, where he has been active in the last 23 years. As founder and CEO he manages offices of the Party- & Eventarchitect in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. This agency designs and cares for a wide range of event marketing-, live communication-, business events and incentive travel for different branches of the German, Polish, Surinam, Czech republik, Dutch and Belgium businesses.

The last 10 years Gebert is also lecturer at TIO University of applied sciences. He is responsible for the courses Event management, Event marketing, Imagineering, MICE and Conference management, Safety and logistics in events. Every year he motivates many students for the event- and MICE business.

In 2013 and 2017 Gebert received the Crystal Award for organizing the most Exceptional Travel Program in Africa and the Middle East and Europe.

Many organizations and Universities know Gebert as a educational, motivational and inspiring speaker. His presentations are always very useful in practice.

    From the age of 17 onwards, travelling the globe in pursuit of the unknown intrigued by cultures, countries and their inhabitants, eventually calling Holland and England my home.

    Having taught the marketing concept by understanding the true elements of a blossoming flower in soil, I believe as Paulo Coelho (author of The Alchemist) says; “The simple things are also the most extraordinary things, and only the wise can see them”.

    To the above I would like to add the personal note that, giving yourself ‘the time to see’, is the biggest gift you will ever receive.

    So … herewith I, continuously seeking challenges, given the ability to inspire myself and others through extensive professional experience in hospitality, marketing, recruitment, education and training, would like to give … Gebert the time to write.

    So … we all take the time to read, which will give us ‘the insight’ of the message and concept laid down in THE REAL MICE BOOK

    Anna Górska holds a master degree from the University of Gdansk, Faculty of Management and Marketing. She graduated with honours from the State University of New York (SUNY), Major:  Associate Degree in Business Administration.

    Under her management Gdansk Convention Bureau has received many archievements and awards. Among others: three times in a row the title of the regional Leader of Innovation and Development; twice in a row the National Leader of Innovation and Development; the best at the EIBTM 2012 trade show and ICCA Best Marketing Award in 2013. She also received an award for her activity in international associations related to business tourism and her work for the benefit of Polish tourism, by the ministry of Sport and Tourism.
